The black cloth represents the society and the various social problem and harmful cultural practices which projects aim to address by washing. When little is known and understood about the underlying issues, it is hard remove all the stains. Thus, the dirty spots remain, and even though NGO’s feel like they have addressed the issues and hung the cloth on the drying line, the challenges persist in the background. It is very hard to spot the stains as the black spots are hidden within the hue of the black cloth.
